The volume, part of the MLA’s “Options for Teaching” series, addresses a number of issues around teaching with Arabic literature in translation, including “issues such as gender, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and the status of Arabic literature in world literature. This is the second such volume in two years, following Arabic Literature for the Classroom: Teaching Methods, Theories, Themes and Texts (Routledge, 2017), edited by Muhsin al-Musawi. Johnson, Rula Jurdi, Maya Kesrouany, Anne-Marie McManus, Philip Metres, Mara Naaman, Ken Seigneurie, Caroline Seymour-Jorn, Stephen Sheehi and ArabLit founding editor M.
